Sloth Comics began in 2003 when Chelsea Davison proposed the idea of starting a comic to her high school friend Nicole Pursell. Although the original comic did not last (turns out there are only so many pirate jokes to be made), Chelsea restarted Sloth in 2007 during college with a new website designed by her gracious older brother Steve Rohl. At the beginning of 2009 Chelsea enlisted friend Jon Moormann to co-write the comic, as his love of wordplay, dark humor, and ridiculous puns meshed perfectly with the site's current off-kilter vibe . Now, Sloth is a force to be reckoned with, at least when it is updated.

The characters are both real and not and comics are based on actual conversations, music, pop culture, and whatever random things Chelsea and Jon happen to find funny.
